I bring together civil engineering, construction management, research and teaching to examine the technical, environmental and economic consequences of decisions in the built environment.
My current research focuses on sustainable residential renovation; my published work also explores construction materials, greenhouse-gas impacts and building energy efficiency.

My doctoral work examines how renovation options can be assessed using integrated life-cycle energy, carbon and cost performance. The work combines building-energy simulation, life-cycle analysis and multi-criteria assessment to support informed renovation choices.
